Thought I'd contribute...
Isn't she a bit overly equipped for such a hot climate country?
This particular soldier is in Afghanistan I think, there are several units from Italy stationed there.
Good to know. But seriously, is it cold in Afghanistan or is this particular unit on a long range mission?
I'm not sure, Afghanistan's climate is all over the place, there are large areas that are just desert which I would imagine is quite hot, then there are mountains covered in snow such as this;

US soldiers always have a lot of kit on as well, so do ours.. I guess it's just protection over comfort...
