Towns doesn't run at all! Thread - Desura

Hi hope you can help,
We have tried lots of times to run towns through the desura launcher and tried running the downloaded towns.exe file... but nothing happens each time. Can someone help please, we've bought the game and really want to play it. I use a toshiba satellite c660 laptop.

I have the same problem, does yours open the window then close immediatly.

First its better to post at the towns forum (http://www.townsgame.com/forums/index.php),
if you experience any bugs, because desura isn't the developer.

You are lucky that I stumpled across, because i have problems with desura recognising towns from gamersgate.

But back to topic:

You have installed java?
Which version?
It is developed for Java 1.6,
but some people also run it with 1.7 installed.

Try to edit the towns.cmd file to

java -Djava.library.path=lib/native/ -Xms1024M -Xmx1024M -jar lib/xaos.jar
pause

and try to run it.

If this doesn't work you have to specify the path to java.
In the .cmd it looks like this:

c:/program files/Java/jre6/java -Djava.library.path=lib/native/ -Xms1536M -Xmx1536M -jar lib/xaos.jar
pause

But you have to change the path (c:/program files/Java/jre6/java) to match for your system.
