This is a group for people who like the command and conquer series, and/or think that EA should have finished tiberium, and let westwood finish tiberian sun properly along with red alert 2 and renegade alpha. Also letting them finish making renegade 2, Continuum and Tiberian Incursion(which looked good).

GDI's Mobile Defence Platform from Westwood's C&C 3.
Well, this one is more realistic and GDI'ish, but EA's C&C3 MDP is more... i dunno... useful...
You mean the Rig? Of course it's useful,because it has 3 repair drones,that can repair nearby vehicles.The only thing I don't know,is how Westwood's MDP deploys in its stable form.
some years ago, there was a video of the deployement on the internet. Might still be somewhere.

There's a model of it at Sleipnir's Stuff site,and it includes the deployment animation.
i think the mobile version is what became TI's railgun platform.
It sure did; the redesign was also used, that one became the Behemoth.
