Funniest thing I heard from my dad's life (part of joke may be lost in translation) By the way, we are all Chinese:
Dad: "Yea I been in a labor camp before"
Me & mom: "Wait, What?!?!"
Dad: "Yea, the company (he was working for an architecture firm at the time) sent a group of us to visit the place so we can design an expansion for the place.
Then he went on to explain that the labor camp in question was just for petty criminals and that conditions are not as terrible as the west believed, and that their task was to improve the conditions there since the government finnally have the funds to do so...
