And this is why we cannot dismiss religious people as morons. Their logic is quite often excellent, only the premise being faulty. And since the logic supports the premise the only escape is stepping outside of their established logic, something not everyone is capable of. Especially not if they're on the defensive.
I kinda wonder what I would believe today if I was raised religious.
You mean their logic is quite often horrible and full of double standards. Creationists alone don't have any good or reliable logic to work with; they just bash theories like evolution that contradict with their beliefs because they want to feel justified in believing what they want to believe.
That's often not a sign of intelligence; it's very anti-intelligence as they don't want to learn or be corrected; they 'know' they're right.
I mean that if you accept the premise "Religion X is true" then anything that contradicts that premise obviously becomes illogical. And challenging your belief (the faulty premise) is also illogical since doing so would be a punishable sin. It's a very intricate mind-trap.
We could put those people onto an isolated island and let nature do the rest until they cant interbreed with **** sapiens - they will evolve into **** moronus.

The existence of a view does not automatically appoint it intellectual or moral value.

Agreed. I guess religion is one of those examples where stupidity can be passed on. Good ol' religion, what would we do without it?
Lets put it in one word: Stupidity
