Description
Highly-trained Swiss mercenaries that were tasked to guard important places like the Vatican City.
they guard the pope and his residence since 1506 and still do. but they only wear these uniforms when there are special events.

Hehehe... I killed so many of them playing Age of Empires =P (I´m not kidding)
they are not in aoe as far as i know. those in aoe3 are swiss mercenaries.

those are pope guards not mercenaries. the swiss mercenaries from back then had a very high status, therefore the pope hired some and they became pope guards. they are not mercenaries anymore.
they are (more or less), just different uniforms.
