Indeed, that's strange. Clone Wars 3d is still an alternate universe for me, the universe for children

what must I convince you of?? Even if he doesn't pay attention as he claims a lot of his employees do. Dave Filoni is very much in to expanded universe. Either way what does any of this matter?? If he does pay attention he has choosen to overide certain events like Boz Pity and Even Piell dieing in a different way. If he doesn't then I am sure the events he has choosen to ignore have been pointed out to him by Dave or others on the staff and he still choose to go with his own story instead.

so why does he choose to acknowledge EU for one of his films but completely disregard it for a lesser TV show?

it wasn't necessary to make EU references in the movie the film could have conveyed its message and continued its plot without them, with TCW on the other hand, you need those references or else everything becomes a clusterfuck like it has now.

Are you serious right now?! Well lets start with the easy ones first, Quilan Vos does not appear in the films as a Jedi, he is seen as a background character on Tatooine, he is entirely EU. Auura Sing is a background character, see was made more by EU. Ventress and her back story on Rattatak is EU. Death Watch is EU. Pre Visla gets his name from the first deathwatch leader Tor Vizla which is EU. The Trandoshan slavers complete with the same weaponry were created for Republic Commando. ARC troopers are EU. Nightsisters are EU. The planet Ilum, Rattatak, Onderon and Dathomir are EU. The Hutt Family is EU. Concordia and Mandalore are EU. Talz are from EU. Gundarks are EU. Anooba's are EU. The black sun crime syndicate is EU. I can keep going if you want?

Events. How many T canon sources and lower reference other EU works?? Not many
But there does not seem to be a point to all of this. If there is please explain.
Wheather GL does pay attention to EU or not is not important and if he doesn't most of his people do including the writers, artist and the director for the clone wars who like to include as much EU content in the show as is relevant to the story. I don't expect that the show will ever include a certain event depicted in EU because they have George Lucas' story to tell.

well if your going to overwrite a story why not tell a better one than what is previously established?

As usual you are treating canon as "The clone wars is the story and everything else is non canon" It is not overwriting anything other than pieces of some events in a select few source books such as Ventress's betrayal at Boz Pity, Even Piell's death portrayed in some novel and few others of the hundreds of books, novels and comics out there. Every other event that is not DIRECTLY contradicted is still as it was before. All of them happened. And the worth of the stories in TCW's is a matter of perspective. I hated the Mon Calamari arc, the recent droid ARC, the padawan lost arc and several others but I loved several others such as the Battle of Ryloth, the second battle of Geonosis, the slave ARC and the most recent Darth Maul episodes have been awesome for story and effects. The shows and even the movies for that fact will never be the same as depicted in the comics. Comics and novels are meant to be brutal and graphic but the show and movies are meant to be PG and PG13. That is how Star Wars has always been. Some of the stories have been deep and well thought out

Description

I recently purchased Star Wars Omnibus: Clone Wars Volume 1 and as i was reading through i came across this quote from Mira, a former Padawan of Sora Bulq.

This is from the Dark Horse comic series "Schism" which depicts the events leading up to Sora Bulq becoming an Acolyte of Count Dooku was published in 2002, mere months after the release of Attack of the Clones. Now, if you watch Episode 3, Padme says something eerily similar, ALMOST word for word to what Mira is saying. Episode 3 however, wasn't released until 2005.

Lucas claims to not pay attention to Expanded universe but how do you explain this similarity? pure chance, its possible but extreamley improbably that its just one big coincidence. not to mention ROTS's constant references to "Labyrinth of Evil".

SO, clone wars fans (mainly ozzy667),you may now make your attempt to convince me that this is all one big coincidence.
