Hi this looks great but i can´t download it...can you upload antoher...?
See if the download at heavengames.com works better for you:
Aok.heavengames.com
I cant download it..................
What if I was to play using this against another person. would they have to have it so the game could run?
I think they would need it, too, because of the data-editing... but not entirely sure.
I actually tried playing this multiplayer and for some reason the new terrains caused the game to OOS even though the other player had the mod as well,Before the terrain update I was able to play it online, perhaps there is a way to fix that?
Strange, definitely worked for me and a friend even after the new terrains were added... make sure there are no traces of other mods, that you both either have or don't have the C patch prior to installing Age of Vampires and that each computer supports the graphics of the game equally good.
If you have a gameranger account you and I could try playing it multiplayer together,Ive tried it 3 times on multiplayer with others and it oddly has not worked,my best guess would be the data edits, certain scenarios may also be crashing it.
So far I've only played it with LAN-cable connections, maybe that also plays a role. Haven't got any accounts for online-playing unfortunately.
But here another idea... check if all players have the same update of the mod, right now version 6 is the newest... because each version has different data-edits that might also explain the problem.
I could have players back up the terrains in your mod and then delete them and then replace them with regular terrains for aoe 2,It might work then because the version without the terrains always worked for multiplayer.
Sorry forgot to sign in before commenting
It's definitely not the terrains, though... I've played on multi-player with the new terrains before.
Then again it could certainly be the gameranger client itself that crashes the game during multiplayer,Ive noticed other modders have issues with gameranger.
Admittedly I never tried gameranger. My only attempts to play the original game or my mod with others happened via direct LAN connections.
Gameranger is just a buggy little gamming client that hosts multiplayer for over 650 games, aoe 2 has a large community on there and a lot of modders such as dynasty_IV go there to test,It is glitchy with mods that change terrains.
Hello dear developer
I can't run this mod, i just install it on AoE folder
Game menu changed, added new fractions but when i run game there interface is different but units is OLD one
I dont know why character and building modes isn't changing
Please help
Best wishes Dmitrij
First of all not all units are new and it also depends on which fraction you are playing. See the additional text files for what changes to expect. If really none of the new buildings and units appear you might have a data-editing problem. Make sure you do not install any patches AFTER installing the mod. If you want to have the C-patch installed for instance, install it first and then install the Mod. Also make sure any other mods are entirelly uninstalled and that you are installing it on top of Age of Kings the Conquerors.
i had the problem to that i couldnt put it in but my way first put it to bureaublad then put it in the main folder of age of empires 2 the conquerors
help it dont want to start
Need help please. If I purchase the game on Steam, where should I browse when the installer ask me?
You then have the HD version of the game and this is not compatible with the mod.
Any hope for an install guide for steam users?
How to use with HD version
All you need is Turtle pack and Advanced Genie Editor. You just need to open the contained drs in Turtle packs DRS program and extract all the slp files to your C:\Program Files
(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common \Age2HD\resources\_common\drs\graphics
Then, rename the file empires2_x1.dat to empires2_x1_p1.dat and place it in your
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Age2HD\ resources\_common\dat and use it to replace the one already there. Open the AOK HD defaults in Advanced Genie Editor and and save them again.
This instruction I saw on heavengames.com, see if it does the trick. Unfortunately I never dwelled into the steam version that much myself.
Are you planning an updated version of this mod in the future? The Transylvanians and the Van Helsing Guild already have their own distinct architecture designs. Can you do the same to the other factions? Frankenstein Guild architecture designs should look more like a mad scientist laboratory.
Lovely, lovely mod right there. What I love most is the Intro music, what's the name of that song?
'Di Gayster' by the Klezmatics
Does this work for HD and the forgotten editions?
I notice that I can't play nor modify downloadable custom maps. Doesn't the mod support custom maps?
Make sure the maps have been downloaded to the right folders. The new modding technology where mods now run parallel to the original game are based on additional folders parallel to the original game folders ;)
Thanks for the info though I managed to find it correct folder last night. It was in a different location.
I should add for anyone reading this that any maps that have pre-selected civilizations will crash.
uhh. gotta problem! when i opened the mod. it showed the vanila Expansion screen and when i pressed the single-player shield. it says that i have to insert the CD-ROM. i got a cracked version of AOE installed to D: and C patch and userpatch as been installed.
Pls reply back as soon as you can
Can you give me a more precise description of the problem?
Sorry for responding so late, but I might have just now understood what happened... you can adjust the destination folder of the mod installation in the setup-window. Since you have a cracked version, customly installed in a path of your choice (I suppose?) you might need to manually set the destination path of the installer, cause the mod needs to be installed to the original game's folder... btw. does your cracked version consist only of Age of Kings, or does it include the Conquerors? That might be relevant, too.
I love this! :) The sounds are so scary!
Man, I will miss the old voices of the Van Helsing Guild... outside of that, everything is really good.
Have you tried to put the Penny Dreadful soundtrack as the soundtrack for the mod? I always play AoV with that soundtrack.
It is everyone's free choice what music to associate with the mod, I personally chose the soundtrack for being not only eerie, but also using instruments that are traditional to Transylvanian culture.
The AoV doesn't work with the HD Edition: The Forgotten Version...
hi, incredible job you have done, can i play it fullscreen?
yes :) should be adjustable in options
Hola. Yo tampoco puedo jugar en pantalla completa. ¿cómo lo tengo que hacer?
It would be fun a cthulluhu like factions
I have a problem, after downloading the mod and clicking on it at the desktop it keeps saying 'Missing Shortcut Windows is searching for avs.exe. To locate the file yourself, click browse.'
And when I click an the same folder symbol as the one on the desktop it does it again. And after awhile it says 'The item 'avs.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly'.
I am not sure what is happening, but check during installation what folder is being selected as the target folder... I have hunch the solution will be found there.
The folder that it is being downloaded onto is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\
Sounds correct... not sure what is happening.
Go to the folder "age2x_1" in your game's installation, and see if avs.exe is in there or not. If it is, all you must do is make a new shortcut.
Could it be related to me using the steam version of the game?
Yes, The mod is not built on/for the HD edition.
