This game is great
It's janky and the combat is repetitive, regardless the ambience and unrelenting zombies are a fantastic danger for this survival horror.
They can kill you in 3 hits or 1 if you are unlucky.
The permadeath mode adds another layer to this danger as you have one life and it can end pretty easily at any time.
