Good news everyone!
Antonio reporting again to tell you more about the Formula Wincars Core and in this occasion I´m going to drop a big spoiler bomb: Formula Wincars has massive Tournaments!
It's important not to forget that FW is a MMO with tons of competition, adrenaline and speed combined in an explosive mix, we can't offer only isolated 8 players races. It's much more exciting to compete literally with thousands of players in a tournament where the winner besides fame and prestige, can win breaking amazing prizes, and it'is not an exaggeration!
What is exactly a tournament? Well, a tournament has two distinct phases:
1. League Phase
During the league, all players participate in 3 races, each with different matchmaking. This will allow us to pick the best players to participate in the Eliminatory Phase.
2. Eliminatory Phase
One more time, 3 races decide who will pass to the next race, but this time being the winner will be vital since only winners will get to the next round. Eventually, there will be only 8 players remaining from the thousands who initially signed up, and there can only be one left, the tournament's winner.
But where is the emotion if it were only a tournament to compete in standard races? Well, here comes the second spoiler: The Tournament may define extra rules that apply to all individual races or in all tournament races.
These rules impact radically in metagame and can affect almost all playable aspects of FW. Rules can define drivers, cars, circuits or skills limits, even player's rank position needed to participate. The possibilities are immense: How about a halloween or christmas Tornament? Or one based in Coca-cola style?, what if all circuits were Rally ones and you could only play with off-road cars? How about if the 8 finalists played with the same car and driver, besides not being able to use any skill? This way, we could find out who truly masters the race!
This whole system is very complex to manage and control, the mere creation of a tournament has so many configuration options, we decided to create a tool in order to help us make tournaments. With a few clicks and 100% dynamic data, we have the ability to create unique tournaments.
Currently this tool can only be used by FW staff members, but, who knows?, maybe in the future we'll let you create your own tournaments. Be a good boys and you'll get it!
