Hello everyone from the Starcraft: Source team, my name is Necromunger; Lead Dev for the Starcraft: Source Team.
Firstly, news on the mods progress:
The "Flak Pistol" model which was seen in some of our images is now scraped and is going to be remade, the marine arm piece holding the gun is also getting an update.
The "Variant A C-14 Gauss Rifle" (Marine Gun) is finally in the game which will feature the ability to change firing types from the grenade launcher back to the machine gun for primary fire while keeping secondary fire as melee, no screenshots to show of this yet sorry.
Zerg models are also currently in construction(Zergling and Hydralisk), and just so everyone knows the zerg egg seen in our images will not be in the game because of its obviously low quality :) it is yet to be remodeld and re-imagined.
As for our BattleCruiser its almost "Operational" the model is almost there WIP:
Please comment on it at its link.
Thats all im going to say for the moment about models guys more updates should be soon.
As for the Story:
The game will be non-linear and the player will be able to visit any planet he chooses in his battlecruiser (This is obviously after the first linear Start to the game, introduceing the player to the world) The player will be going from planet to planet as he or she chooses but the idea is that the player will be doing "missions" as he or she goes along. I dont want to give away to much but that is the general idea of how its going to work.
The Hud in Starcraft: Source is also in debate whether to add a blueish hue to the screen to give the image of the screen over the marines eyes or just to leave it as clear.
Also the players flashlight will pretty much be now two flood lights pointing one to the left and one to the right.
Please comment on these subjects we want the communitys opinion.
Starcraft: Source Will soon have its very own Offical website with fourms, news, images and more from the mod so i hope to see you all there when its live.
