It's a game where you shoot dinosaurs and aliens with guns.
I'm not a big fan of having to replay levels every time you miss a key, especially so because some enemies have a tendency to respawn, even seconds after you killed them.
Also for a game titled "Dinosaur Hunter" I felt like dinosaur enemies were underused, and there weren't all that many types of dinosaurs overall. It isn't until the second half of the game when more interesting enemies like raptors with cannons and triceratops start appearing.
Also last two levels rocket difficulty way too high way too abruptly.
And I personally wish that explosive ammo for shotguns was just an alt-fire mode, instead of forcing you to use it up once you find it. And speaking of explosive ammo and weapons, it feels like Tek arrows and explosive shells don't have that much of splash damage, because I never managed to kill more than one enemy at a time with them.
All in all, though, I had fun with this game for the most part. It looks nice and has some really impressive animations. And most weapons are funt to use.

Turok was a critical success on the N64 and was one of the first titles to prove how powerful the system was and that a "true" full FPS experience was possible on the console market. To this day it holds a lot of charm and tons of gameplay for anyone willing to invest into it. The Nightdive Remaster is almost perfect with mod support, 60 FPS, graphical enhancements, proper PC controls and an extended fog/view distance.

A classic FPS and was the first true great fps on a console. Before Golden eye and before Halo there was Turok the Dinosaur hunter.

Turok was a breath of fresh air when it first released. It had great graphics with fancy lighting effects and some really great animation work. It really made the Nintendo 64 look great. Furthermore, it also had pretty huge environments and some really fun weapons.

This new remaster is the very best version of the game to play, it runs smooth as hell and looks even better than it did before. Turok is pretty underrated these days and i hope the series comes back soon.

It is an amazing '90s game with large 3D levels, varied weapons, nice animations. It would be cool if there were more dinosaur species and maps are so large that you can get easily confused when you need to come back for the keys. It is annoying the fact that enemies can respawn in some seconds after being killed. Also, it is not good that you can't choose secondary ammo like explosive shotgun shells or teks. So, you are forced to use the special ammo you find instead of saving them for particular situations. Some enemies have the same animations and sounds, but have different model and Texture. The level design is cool (from jungles, ancient cities to sci-fi environments). The weapons are varied and some of them are exotic like alien technology. It would be great if you can save your progress directly in the pause menu instead of waiting to find a sacred stone during gameplay to save the game. The campaigner (final boss) is one of the most powerful and intimidating bosses that you face in a video game. Overall, i enjoyed this game and i recommend it to anybody!
