Great work!

But is it possible to zoom out even more than with WideView mode? Just a few camera levels more... Really miss FOV from original Settlers 2 =( I can make a perfect FOV for me with FreedomOfMovement console command, but it's imposible to play when it is active =(

Try to move the camera up on a hill. The camera then will stay higher. For now this would be the best option.

It is possible now. The creator of widescreen fix (zocker-160) added support for this.

1) Download 'WidescreenFix_1.11.zip' from the latest release:
github.com/S2-modders/Settlers-DNG-Patches/releases/tag/1.11

2) Replace files in 'game_folder/bin' with files from zip folder.

3) Open 'd3d9.ini' with text editor and change the line
';DebugOverrrideZoom = 0' to 'DebugOverrrideZoom = 18'
Make sure to delete ';' at the beginning of line

4) Have fun!

Good job!
I tried install the game by Termux for Android to test the VXDK but the fps in the emulation was very low, 7fps on Vulkan.
Bad coded game!

At least for PC works great!

New PC Aug.2023, AMD with 3060 and Win11 Pro. Freshly installed GOG game has no issue. I confirm the widescreen patch results in the game exiting when you SAVE a game.Uninstalling the widescreen patch results in the game saving again.

"ForceNativeDX = off" to "on" seems to have solved the issue

In d3d9.ini
[Lobby]
enabled = false
ServerIP = 0.0.0.0:8777
Patchlevel = 11757
DebugMode = off

It works? Can I somehow use it to play with friends?

Does this actually work as intended?
Basically the only resolution that isn't horribly distorted is 1920x1080.
All others are horribly skewed.
Are there some default settings that should be changed to make it work?

Is the resolution of your monitor 1920x1080, then you should play in 1920x1080. If you want to play in a 3:2 or 4:3 ratio on a FullHD monitor, then you can add resolutions like 1620x1080 or 1440x1080 with the app called "Custom Resolution Utility". And then change the setting in the nVidia or AMD control panel so the image isn't stretched for non-standard resolutions.

This widescreen fix only adds additional zoom levels, depending on the aspect ratio of the set resolution, and updates for densities for different camera heights.
We haven't found a real solution for the FOV setting.

Great work.

So I can just install the patch without having to worry the game (Vikings edition) won't start or savegames won't work?

Since I got it to work like 3 years ago and can't actually remember how I did it :)

Yes. Don't forget the 2009 Patch for the Vikings AddOn. I just posted a link into the description.
Everything is reversible. After installation there's an uninstaller in the game folder, in case something will not work.

Hello, installed the game through InternetArchive ISO, after allowing it to access the savegame folder it even lets me save the settings after exiting. Unfortunately the widescreen fix does not work.

I install it, it runs through, I start the game and it does not allow me to zoom out further than the usual 5 levels.

Am I doing something wrong? (34" UWQHD Screen)
