Survivors of Ragnarök is a city-building-management-survival game inspired by Dwarf Fortress. Manage, create, and survive through dynamic and deadly worlds. Losing is a fundamental core aspect of design.

Now featuring a hundred percent more compulsive behavior!

Posted by Tastyrice on Mar 7th, 2012

As promised we plan on releasing all updates this month completely free. All of this leading up to our newly reworked crafting system. Our task system has been reworked to now allow for dwarfs to start stockpiling items.

This is a huge step in insuring that our new crafting system works properly. There are still some work to be done to allow for customizing your stockpiles right down to the individual materials. However it is fully functional in-game.

-Stockpiles!
-Added New Ore & Rubble.
-Added Two New Songs.
-New UI. (This is still a work in progress and will be expanded upon future updates.)
-Tweaked Volume Levels of Music and Sound Effects.
-Fixed Some Minor Animation Issues.

****? Better?! Nicely!?! This "game" hardly warrants such praise, there is very little actionable responsive gameplay after all these builds. Wipe that stupid grin off your face. Their latest livestream vid? Chickens starving without grass and watching them play a retextured Minecraft after they have the audicity to criticize other people's programing. Still no tutorial, wiki is sparse on info, irc chat is empty and the forums are dead most of the time and chasing their tail in the brief moments of activity instead of paying attention to legitimate concerns of customers. Praise at this point is over zealous enthusiasm of a pipe dream, the demented ravings of brown nosed Yes Men gladly lapping up promises that have yet to materialize after a year. They need to step up their game and earn that praise like other Devs have before them and better implementation of these same inspirations can be spotted on the horizon with A Game of Dwarves or even Towns coming to take what should be yours. Prove you are inspired by Dwarf Fortress and put out updates that would be worthy of licking Toady's boots! Now get down and give me 100! The rest of you can stand at attention in this beautiful torrential downpour until Private Tastyrice is finished. /Sgt Ahole Rant aka Reality Check. ;)

Excuse me, but the wording in the intro paragraph makes it sound like I'd have to pay for future updates after I've already bought the game. Is this correct thinking?

Not at all, we're releasing this months updates for free for everyone who has not bought SoR. Everyone who pays for the games is of course getting any other updates. This is especially true considering we're still in alpha. Sorry for the improper wording.

Damn this game has progressed. Great job gentlemen! I can't figure out how to craft beds, so my dwarves have perished from exhaustion half a dozen times now. But its all good, cause I can slay many foes before their flesh melts away :).

Oh, and you misspelled dwarves in the poster.

Beds! That must be it, I wondered why they were bones so soon, even after I placed that water. You would think they would just sleep on the ground or some stone like a good dwarf. Well, let's see, I guess I will just fight a sheep, cut down a tree, then open up the crafting section and ... wait, where did the crafting section go? :P
