The most realistic survival/crafting game to date!

Post news Report RSS V0.6 in the making and a possible restructure ahead!

Back from summer vacation and September exams about to finish, so work has started again! First off, Survival Wasteland entered V0.6 with the addition of particle effects (images will be uploaded soon). Sounds will be added too! Secondly, as experience has been gained, there are many parts of code that are a tad sloppy, so restructuring has started, and it is possible that the core engine (graphics rendering and the main update loop) will be written over before work starts on Alpha.

Back from summer vacation and September exams about to finish, so work has started again!
First off, Survival Wasteland entered V0.6 with the addition of particle effects (images will be uploaded soon). 0.6 will have particle effects for smoke, and sounds will be added too!
Secondly, as experience has been gained, there are many parts of code that are a tad sloppy, so restructuring has started, and it is possible that the core engine (graphics rendering and the main update method) will be written from scratch after 0.6 is released, so as to enter Alpha 1.0 with clean code that will allow easier debugging, addition of features, and all in all faster development.

Reminder of current plan:
-It is yet undecided whether or not animation will be added, but as the general feel that is intended is that of Wasteland (the precursor to the Fallout series), it is rather unlikely, especially considering how this is a one man job.
-V0.6 will attempt to bring the wasteland to life with some sound and animated smoke (and possibly fire too)! Furthermore, ending the game will be possible.
-Alpha 1.0 will add an experimental NPC, depending on how he works out, there will either be a notification system, or, hopefully, a full conversation system, or better still a trading system.
-Up to Alpha 1.5 there will be enemy NPCs and a combat system, along with a score system that will evaluate how well you did in ending the game (probably around V1.2-1.3).
-Hopes are that Beta 2.0 will see some automated buildings and processes, such as traps for example, while during the Beta stages there will be an effort to make NPCs capable of being companions, and hopefully tasks will be assignable to them so as to give a more tactical aspect to the game.

The end of Beta will at best be at the end of Christmas vacations, by then I will post news on the future of the project.
