Last time you learned about how wonderful it is to work for ARC. Now we're going to tell you about how bad it actually is.

- Hey, buddy. Yeah, you. You're new here, right? Then listen up. First of all, forget all that crap you heard in the recruiting center. You know, all that stuff about your "chance to make history" and the "job of your dreams" and whatnot. We're five miles below a layer of ice and water in the coldest goddamn ocean on this lousy planet. If you've never been to jail, you'll figure out what it's like in here.

- Just keep your trap shut for now. There’s a lot of guys here on early release from the joint, and the rest are still working off their sentences. I think you get my drift. Don’t mess with the Compliance Division, not with any of those guys. They're the local overseers. I've already told you about the population of this place, so give those guys a reason, and you're in for a world of hurt.

- Your main job while you're still in the Hive is to avoid ending up in the Labor Reserves. It's a nice name for the hardest, dirtiest work you can imagine. That's where they send people who, for whatever reason, don't get assigned to a regular tour. Just between you and me, there's only ever one reason: they've got big mouths. So if you aren't assigned to a station, you end up in the warehouse or with a mop in your hand. Your fancy degrees won't be worth the paper they're printed on.

- Anyway, don't worry too much. People can get used to anything. Just keep your ears open, especially if someone wants to help you, and don't be stingy when it comes to giving other folks a hand. And don't go sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Just work through your contract like everybody else and stroll on home with a fat wad of cash. If you end up on a tour, it all gets a lot simpler than here in the Hive.

- Well, I gotta run. Good luck.
