Spinning a new take on World War 2, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II pulls you out of the field and into the commander's head. Your group isn't as large as an army in Age of Empires, but the inclusion of vehicles pushes it out of the realm of squad warfare. Some squad based elements remain however, as you can take direct control of an individual soldier or vehicle and aim and move him directly with your keyboard and mouse. This can be used to great effect in raising the efficency on the front line. The game's dozens of soldier and vehicle meshes are all well modeled, textured and animated. The game's locales are very well done too, taking you to war torn Europe.
Great Editor however will no longer run for me, I have an error " resource/set/registry.reg(eiropository.cpp, 196)".
So far have tried running compatibility for windows 98/ XP & vista with no luck ).
Tried reinstalling the game, still no luck.
If anyone has had this error & gotten past it, please advise.

Put the start_editor.bat and soldiers_editor.exe files in the same location as your Soldiers.exe.
Set compatibility mode to XP SP2 (others may work, this works for me)
Make sure your display resolution is NOT above 1920x1080.
Run start_editor.bat.
Works for me with the Steam version on Windows 10
So I have installed it into the Soldiers game directory. The issue I am now having is that it closes about 5 seconds after I open it. Sometimes I can get to the login screen and other times it kicks me out sooner. i have tried opening it about 7 times and this time I manged to get to the login screen.
