Hello folks!
For those of you who didn't play the Beta 1 versions of Sirius, Mining was kind of an annoyance there. You had to stand up to one minute straight in front of an asteroids and hold the right mouse button. As you may think "This is ridiculous!" - It is.And therefore I redid the Mining System.
People love shooting stuff! In an attempt to make mining more fun and less chore-like I made all asteroids shootable. If you make it pop, it will drop around 50% of its contents, or if you chose the miner-class as beginner, 55%. Those drops will be cubelike items with the icon of the corresponding dropped resource. Just fly over them to collect them into your cargo bay.
Why just 50%? Because if i finish the AI, Miners will be able to launch drones, which mine the full content of a roid (up to 110% because of its class bonus). So even if the miner class doesn't sound very profitable at the beginnen, due to the trader having a bigger cargo bay or the combatteer having bigger guns, it may be a good choice to start with.
A few closed test already showed the testers havin fun with this system while being resourceful, so this is one of the major changes to 0.5
Comments, Feedback and so on very appreciated,
Dex
Nice! Can't wait for the next release.
