Very nice looking, but I don't think the Combine would allow people to use that much electricity

Based on the last level (the view from the citadel), combines not prohibit the use of electricity. In addition, during the battle all have spit on it. =) Img4.wikia.nocookie.net

It's not like they are hurting for power, what with the dark energy reactor underneath the citadel and all that, but... yeah, I can see your point, they are kind of dickish like that.

I just crossed my mind that Freeman never witnessed the Citadel at night during his journey in Half-Life. Maybe it could have some eery white/blue illumination seeping out of some parts of it.

Something like that: Imgur.com

We are thinking about it. Maybe we try to contact Valve and clarified.

I'm sure they celebrate Christmas too, but bearing in mind what Valve was going for I'd say it would either be monochromatic blue light or no light at all.

I think the change between 3d buildings and 2d is quite jarring, I would recommend some layers of 2d cutout buildings.

This looks both beta-ish and retail-ish at the same time, and yet has somwhat an original feel on it's own, it's just great! :o
