Siege of Turtle Enclave is a 4X turn based strategy game set in a fantasy world filled with magic and danger. Over the course of the game players will expand their territory by battling back the cruel owl horde, and at the same time building a thriving settlement, researching new magic spells, forging new weapons, and training advanced soldiers as they progress through the campaign. Each time a new campaign is started the map will be randomly generated so that no two games will be the same! Perhaps during one game you will have an abundance of food, so masses of cheap troops will wear down the enemy, or in another you will begin near a rare Crystal deposit, allowing you to wield powerful magic with which to smite your foes! The game is in the early stages of development so exciting new features will continue to be added, so stay tuned!
The first public build of the game is now available for testing (and just for having fun with...which is also good).

A grand day in the development of SoTE! You have my thanks for being a part of this event either by reading this article or by downloading the game, so I thank you! This Alpha represents the first playable build of the game released for public testing, I am hoping it will generate useful feedback that will aid in the development and polishing of the full game (which won’t be done for a while yet...). Please bear in mind however that this is an early build and many features are still missing or unfinished.
The general ‘play-flow’ is as it will be in the final version; build troops to capture tiles to collect resources to build buildings to build more troops to capture more tiles to collect more resources, but the carrying out of said carnage is not yet as satisfying as I ultimately intend it to be. So stay tuned! Now that the Alpha is out new builds will constantly be released (constantly, but not so quickly...) until such time as I am satisfied with the state of the game ‘engine’ and the direction the game is headed in.
At that point, I’ll stop releasing updates, cram in as many units, enemies, heroes, buildings and hidden stuff as I can think of, polish the game till it shines like a new dime, and then release the full game commercially at what I would consider to be a modest price. After that I don't have definitive plans for the post release. (Probably just some bug stomping, maybe a content patch, or, if I feel the game is well received, an expansion pack or something like that.)
