SSS(Shoe String Shooter) is a low budget FPS game which attempts to achieve "next gen" look. The game has no specific theme so you might find dinosaours, ninjas, cars and robots all together in the same game. It will consist of several small levels or maybe some bigger campaigns and also online gameplay. I will try to include any mechanic that looks fun, and not necesseraly realistic. There is the intention of making it look like an AAA title, at least from the technology side. Since the budget for the assets is a little on the short side.

I think the shots take too much time to impact. Just my opinion.

The bullet speed is 250m/s. It's a bit slow.
I read on wikipedia that a hand gun bullet is about 300m/s
There might also be a small delay until you see the smoke because the smoke rise slowly. So it looks as if it takes time for the bullet to hit the wall.
The issue with having faster bullets is that they are too fast to render or see. Unless I do something fancy.
Well anyway, this should be tested... I can make the bullet speed being a parameter in a configuration file. :)

The smoke was the slow deal. Sparks were fine, but the delay between sparks and smoke seems to be weirded out.

So does the smoke look ok? Or should I improve it? Do you have any tips on how to make good looking smoke?

I don't think smoke should come out from every material, just like sparks. There you should add something like flying concrete bits. Make specific particle FX for every material, so it looks awesome. And... Cool shootgun btw :D
