Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, the highly anticipated arcade action FPS sequel to the Serious Sam: The First Encounter, is a high-adrenaline arcade-action shooter heavily focused on frantic arcade-style action. In a world where cyberpunk meets fantasy-fiction and advanced technology is mixed with black magic and psycho-powers, Sam travels through the three beautiful worlds, confronting countless minions on his way to the Mental's base.

Another kind-of a hot take from me maybe, but I think overall the First Encounter was better by a long shot. This is not to say that Second one is not good at all, the frist half of south american episode (along with the final level), and the entirety of european one are wonderful, but were the First Encounter eased you into the overwhelming situations and provided a few breather levels, this one doesn't screw around and instead throws 600 enemies per level on average.
I would definitely blame it on the babylonian episode for making the game a little more tiring compared to its predecessor, but everything else pretty much makes up for it.
There are far more Kleer per level, and while I appreciate the addition of new weapons, which are awesome btw, I felt like the sniper rifle's addition was rectified a bit too much by puting a lot of hitscanners and reptiloids out in the open, usually miles away from you, making this weapon feel gimmicky at times, albeit still useful as a rocket launcher replacement.
The last two levels are simply wonderful, especially the Grand Cathedral. This level is definitely a great way to leave off, the penultimate battle in ruins during a raging thunderstorm and meteor shower while this epic soundtrack is playing is definitely a lot of fun despite many deaths. What a great video game series.
