This 2d map for speedrun (Sea Dogs TEHO)

Mapping/Technical Tutorial

———————————————--
"Introduction. Why did I decide to do it!"
————————————————-

Now we can plan our day in the game (to feel like a really omnipotent pirate).

Everyone played the game and missed about 70% of the game. We were constantly trying to pump up and capture ships (with no plans in advance).

If you really want to know the game 100%, you can't do it without a normal map.

When it came to the plot, we (sometimes/often) we looked at the Internet, because over time, moments went out of my head, then how to pass.

We all play only 30% of the game (capture, leveling, capturing forts on a ship, a couple of tasks per day), but the game hides about 70% of all content from us, because we don't have enough time and energy for it. We just get physically entangled in the game (without strategy).

———————————————--
"3d map or 2d map?"
————————————————-

Now you can draw/circle the map in SketchUp or Photoshop (circle it from above and arrange it beautifully as you want).

Then align in 2d. Artists or who are a fan of maps can dream up for drawing islands and cities (by running "Photoshop illustrator")

————————————————
"What about the quality of the drawings?"
————————————————

1) Deleted (if possible) polygons. Leaving only what the player is facing: for example, a collision of trees (although trees help to navigate).

2) The map is tactical and empty. In order for the file not to weigh very much, I deleted as many polygons as possible (everywhere).

3) The quality of the drawings is lame in places (average). I tried my best.

———————————————--
"How did I make the map?"
————————————————-

Advantages (+):

1) Extracting 3d ripper, then I went to 3ds Max 7 (ancient) and saved it there and then opened it in 3ds max 2016 and then transferred it to Blender

2) There are more perfect pieces of the card (40% of the card looks good, but not all).

Cons (-):

1) In the game itself, the house disappears OUT of the player's field of view. Therefore, I could not extract everything at once. Because of what it was difficult and long!

2) leveled for a long time and the map was not completely extracted by 3d ripper (in places houses need to be leveled and corrected, because sometimes the map was glued in pieces).

————————————————-
"What can we do now?"
————————————————-

On the map, you can mark exactly what you plan to do (Every step you take!)

1) You can transfer the whole plot and find loopholes and feel like the king of this game!

2) It will also help for speedrun

3) Now you WON't have to watch a video in a year to remember the game!

4) You will find new tactics and a new look at the game (spending a minimum of time and enjoying the game to the fullest).

5) You will be able to set goals in your game, what exactly you want to get from the game and plan all your moves (in advance).

6) For example: "During the day, when you are tired after work and want to play Corsairs for a couple of hours, without straining so as not to poke into every polygon of the game. You will be able to mark for yourself on the map what you will do (in advance)"

———————————————--
"What does this card give YOU?"
————————————————-

Thus, to give yourself and others freedom, so that when you enter the game, you yourself have the will to decide what to do today.

1) For example, you wanted to level up to level 12 and skip part of the quests (traveling around the map).

2) Either at the beginning of the game you want to go through bugs somewhere or skip part of the plot by a bug in the game

3) Either you decide to take possession of the strongest ship at all costs and go through the game for it (your goal).

4) Plan what exactly you will buy in the shop today and where you will go exactly today (capture or one task + capture of the fort).

5) Having a 3d map, you can become a real pirate only by having only one map in your hands (but only with plans for 30-100 hours of your game and your tactics).

———————————————--
"The result of the work done?"
————————————————-

1) In the game you will still rely on your memory (memorizing your game tactics through plans on a 3d map)

2) You will be able to open the map on (the second monitor) and will feel like a real almighty pirate guru

3) You plan how to play yourself, instead of the developer deciding for you (deciding and marking) where to go and what to do, as it is now in all modern games

4) Time and level on tasks, although it interferes with freedom, but this is solved either through mods or simply by accurately planning your game.
