The only fully automatic firearm in Part I, the Nitewood LAMP is a compact, coil-accelerated machine pistol chambered for standard issue 9mm bolts and designed to hold a thirty-round magazine. Due to its fully automatic feed system, compact frame, and high magazine capacity, the LAMP is the favored weapon of enforcers and mercenaries operating in controlled zones where easily-concealable firepower is more important than accuracy.
These very characteristics however make the LAMP a poor choice for professional forces, who can carry weapons openly and prefer to rely on the accuracy of full-length sub machineguns or carbine rifles over the high volume of fire offered by compact machine pistols like the LAMP.
