BMP-4 is the successor to older BMP-3 and BMP-2, designed after learning lessons from Chechen wars, Georgian-Russian conflict and numerous others, it bears heavy armor, 45-mm new generation cannon and most importantly - an active protection system, designed to make partisans and guerrillas pissed off.
