This game lets you build any kind of robot you can imagine. You can program every part using a visual editor. Definite learning curve but so satisfying if you put in some time. The worlds are spherical. I haven't seen that since Ratchet and Clank on the PS2. It has a little arcadey look to it, which is actually much more appealing to me than a strict physics simulation, but the physics are so good right now.

This is just alpha. The list of stuff this game is going to get means it's just going to get better. It's been a long time since I felt this good about a game. Very exciting stuff.

I even shelled out $30 on the devs' site. I am going to buy another copy on Desura in preparation for when multiplayer is put in the game and can have our own little LAN games.

I admit - I got excited just making an elbow joint mapped to the keyboard and making a trailer for my little rover to pull around. There are some people making incredible bots with this game. One day I will make a giant elbow bot and smash them :D

I've bought a lot of games no Desura - around 85 I think - and this is my #1 even in pre-alpha. My only concern that it may turn some people off with the learning curve and lack of menus right now, so come back in a few months and hopefully building will be easier for more casual gamers. The potential for this game is as high as I've seen yet on Desura for a game. The future is bright for this one.

Update - Just picked up my second copy for $10 on Desura. I love this game. The $30 I paid on the devs' site was money well spent. This copy is highway robbery. No multiplayer yet, but I'm ready when it is implemented.

Talk about versatile robots - There are swimming, flying, driving ones that people are making. I was working today on a dual rotor Chinook helicopter. It needs a lot of work and maybe a total redesign, but this game has me thinking about it when I am not playing.
