Racing Method is a top down racing game with a focus on race strategy simulation while remaining easy to pick up and play. If you are familiar with Generally or Turbo Sliders, then you know what to expect. The entry bar is low, and simple driving physics and controls means anybody will be able to pick up and pay with relative ease. Players will compete against other drivers in longish races and still have all the strategy and drama you find in Formula One today. Tyre wear, fuel loads, pit stops, slip streaming (drafting) and more. Win races by undercutting your opponents pit strategy, changing from soft to hard tyres and playing the long game. Or go for a 2 stopper and try and chase down your opponents. Watch your sector times compared to others and see the gap increase our decrease every sector. The AI are smart. They overtake and make mistakes, utilise different strategies, and all this makes for enthralling races.

The last week I've been hard at work adjusting the physics. There was a huge issue in Unity with some of the sizing of components, the physics was completely screwed and after racking my brains I came across the answer somewhat by accident. Free from that mess I have been able to turn my effort towards creating some videos for Racing Method.

The last week I've been hard at work adjusting the physics. There was a huge issue in Unity with some of the sizing of components, the physics was completely screwed and after racking my brains I came across the answer somewhat by accident. Free from that mess I have been able to turn my effort towards creating some videos for Racing Method.

The first video is the promo vid. It's already live on IndieDB and is a great first look and introduction to Racing Method.

The next vid gives a real feel of a race, the pacing of the game and the current state of the AI - going 3 laps around Australia.

Enjoy!
