Pool Nation VR demonstrates more than just how pool physics will be experienced in the VR space. Players will be able to interact with all sorts of objects, create trickshots with any plates, bottles and other items in the pool hall, play virtual darts, and take part in the time-honored pastime of throwing empty beer bottles against the wall. With the most advanced proprietary physics engine honed for billiards realism, Pool Nation VR aims to deliver the most interactive VR pool experience in the most chilled VR hangout.

Developers Cherry Pop Games and Perilous Orbit have announced a virtual reality-exclusive version of its realistic pool simulator will be coming to the HTC Vive next week. Called Pool Nation VR, the game accurately simulates a pool table's physics, while you wield your cue with the Vive's motion controllers.

But, as the above trailer demonstrates, Pool Nation VR isn't just about playing a standard game of pool. The title has a sharp sense of humour, which it owes to its use of Unreal Engine 4's physics engine, combined with the Vive's room-scale tracking and motion control. Not only is the pool table simulated, but so is the rest of the bar that the pool table is located in - along with all the objects you'd expect to find. You can stack and smash beer bottles, hit trick shots over them, or just just go and play a round of darts while you wait for your turn.

Pool Nation VR also allows for online multiplayer, so you and a friend can join the same room - which can be customised with a whole bunch of unlockable items. The game launches on April 28 on Steam for US$19.99, exclusively for the HTC Vive.
