Introducing the Pokemon Generations forum! Also covering some plans for updates and what to expect in the next one!

Posted by Xatoku on Feb 15th, 2013

Similar to ZWC, I plan on keeping up a regular journal just talking about what we're working on and how we're handling suggestions, etc. The first thing I'd like to mention is the forum.

Comments are awesome, and we're always reading them and taking them into account, sometimes not even consciously. But one thing we decided to do early on is have a forum for people to talk about PokeGen amongst one another and have more room to give suggestions and hear our (& everyone else's) feedback.

We're still going to be reading each and every word posted either here, the PokeCommunity thread, or the Reddit, but the forum is going to be the main place we'll be watching. There's also going to be things such as contests and community events (should we make it that far) that will be hosted on the forums. I'll still post all of that here, but just note that the forum is the main priority, so that will be the place to look for that kind of stuff.

Update wise, there's a lot going on, and a lot being planned. The plan is to release large updates in intervals of about a month. This next update in particular is going to have 5 new Pokemon (2 of which you've already seen), a large extension of the map, the party system & catching Pokemon, and some NPC interaction. That's not everything, but it should cover the main things which will branch off more specifically in the update itself.

We've already made improvements to the control scheme as we got a lot of feedback on that, and some graphical elements and bugs have already been tweaked/fixed, so we're moving along nicely.

I'll keep you guys posted on further plans, and an eventual release date for the next revision. Until then, if you're interested, drop by the forums and tell us why we suck. Later!

The plan was to release large updates at around a month's time(see above for that) but tacking down some of the mechanics needed to move forward, as well as pulling together a lot of the things we needed to get done for the second update has taken longer than we expected.

I don't have an exact date for you, but we're sure working at it, and trying to get things working.

Ummm... Amazing but I just found an amazing Glitch! I call it Party at the lake. By Going in the lake and facing the edge then repeating pressing Tab you get unlimited clones of both pickachu, and charmander.
Here is a screen shot.
