Today's war gaming and first person shooters has advanced greatly from what it was 4 decades ago, and PLUG is planning to take it further. The single player is a large extensive storyline that allows the player to join multiple divisions of the PLUG military group and get behind the story of how PLUG was created. "Valentine" or Sergeant Curtis E. Love is a fictional character that created PLUG, after taking serious injuries from one of his missions in Russia secretly taking out a Soviet base. Other details for the campaign will be added later. The Multiplayer mode is going to be a mass multiplayer online, other details will be added.
This gun is for the Sniper division of PLUG. Before they get to their location to use the LR barrel, they use the A barrel. LR meaning Long Range and A meaning Assault. The A Barrel uses the 5.56x45mm NATO and the LR barrel uses the .50 BMG. The A barrel includes an adapter for the magazine feed and the gun also includes a selector switch with electronics to switch internals
Interesting concept, but flawed in design. Believe it or not, but in order to make 5.56 rifle into a .50 BMG rifle, you're going to ahve to swap out the upper completely. It's not just a quick barrel change. Even if it was somehow a quick barrel change, who is going to want to lug around a 600+ mm steel tube and, say, 20-30 rounds of a heavy, bulky round like the .50 BMG?
My advice? Don't try to combine weapons from completely different ends of the spectrum. Instead, create a weapon that can be used for one or the other. That way there is no compromise in the design of the weapon.
