Pioneer is a space adventure game set in the Milky Way galaxy at the turn of the 31st century. The game is open-ended, and you are free to explore the millions of starsystems in the game. You can land on planets, slingshot past gas giants, and burn yourself to a crisp flying between binary star systems. You can try you hand at piracy, make your fortune trading between systems, or do missions for the various factions fighting for power, freedom or self-determination.
This screen shot shows P66 landing pads that can be added to the game.
very impressive! how much is this like elite: frontier? does it use newtonian physics?
Yes, Pioneer uses a full Newtonian flight model. The devs in the beginning were aiming for feature parity with the original game, but now they have not only matched the features, but surpassed them too, and there is still even more yet to be added.
Incidentally, if anyone has features they would like to see added, Pioneer has a features request thread on Git Hub. Have a look at this thread on the SSC for more info. Contributions in the form of models, missions or anything your talents can bring to the project are always welcome.
