Pariah Patch v1.02 Release Notes
With the exception of cases explicitly mentioned below this patch is completely
compatible with the retail version - servers and clients of any flavor can
connect with each other. This patch will not overwrite your pariah.ini and
user.ini files, except to update settings as necessary. This patch should be
installed *after* installing the retail version of Pariah. This patch contains
fixes from all previous Pariah patches.
Patch 2 (May 2005)
Gameplay Tweaks
+ Reticle "stickiness" is included with the autoaim option and will now be
disabled when autoaim is disabled.
+ Dodge has been removed.
+ Removed plasma goggles graphic effect.
+ Reduced minimum mouse sensitivity.
+ Added new Performance menu option for post render effects.
+ Added player ping to the scoreboard.
+ Added support for GameSpy Arcade.
Fixes
+ Extra cheat commands which allowed spawning, killing, ghosting, viewing
players, etc, have been disabled in multiplayer.
+ Console messages are more visible.
+ Incorrect team skin at beginning of match is fixed.
+ Fixed "New actor channel received non-open packet" crash.
+ Fixed scoreboard to allow for 32 players.
+ Fixed incorrectly blinking usage meter in MAP editor.
+ The Lonely Isle custom base map only had spawn points for one team...spawn
points for the other team were added. This results in an incompatibility
between the retail version and patched versions of this map. This means that
clients, wishing to join servers running this map or custom maps derived from
this map, must be the same version as the server.
+ Fixed issues with players getting stuck in DM-Twisted. This results in an
incompatibility between the retail version and patched versions of this map.
This means that clients, wishing to join servers running this map, must be the
same version as the server.
+ Fixed bug where Effects Volume slider in the Audio Settings was also
affecting music.
+ Fixed bug where some voices weren't being controlled by the Voice Volume
slider in Audio Settings.
+ Pariah's version number is now displayed in the lower left corner of the
initial welcome screen.
+ Sometimes the installer failed to decompress the sound packages resulting in
garbled sounds. This patch will make sure that the sound packages are
decompressed.
+ Add the UCC.exe application.
+ Sometimes the installer failed to properly extract some files...this would
result in crashes with dialog boxes containing strings like this:
MenuSinglePlayer MenuLevel.MenuSinglePlayer0 (Function
XInterfaceCommon.MenuSinglePlayer.Init:0137) Assertion failed, line 65
Assertion failed: InPos
This patch contains the proper versions of these files.
