ORBITOR is an action adventure game for PC and Mac. It is aimed at people who want a detailed, varied and unique game. The game has a broad visual appeal and is a good example of the rich visual quality that the Unity engine can deliver.

You can now play a web mechanics demo of ORBITOR for free on our website www.evilaliens.co

Posted by theironpaw on Oct 12th, 2012

We have uploaded a playable webdemo of ORBITOR on our website.
Its only a mechanics demo, so not the full game. Its basic purpose is to give you guys the chance to mess around with the game mechanics and get a feel for the controls. \

Keep in mind that it is still an alpha build and might have a few bugs here and there, we will try to fix them as they come up so if you encounter something please let us know.
Because it is a web build, performance isn’t particularly good. We are looking into building a downloadable version asap.

So stop reading this blog post and get your ORBITOR on.
Play it at

* Mechanics are awesome and interesting as expected
* Runs surprisingly well, much better than I expected considering my PC

* Controls though, are somewhat confusing. Having your orbiter flipped but the controls unchanged can be disorienting. Can I ask for a second control option in which the angle of the thumbstick sets the desired angle, and your orbiter automatically turns towards it? I've coded a game very similar to this (except worse... but the movement is the same) and it's not TOO hard to add...

Glad you like it,

@7heSAMA The Controls are -
Left Arrow / A / Left on Left thumb stick ->(anti-clockwise)
Right Arrow / D / Righton Left thumb stick ->(clockwise)

We have used these controls because they translate well when you orbit(lock on to) an object and can turn in and out with left/right.

We have found that a certain number of people get thrown off by this to start with, It can help to think of it as something like a remote control car that can turn left and right.

We have not done much optimization for old computers/graphics cards yet and the web build is a little different to an exe, so its good to hear it was running well.

It won't seem to work when I try to play it. I installed the Unity Web Player, reset the browser, but it still says that I need to get the Unity Web Player. BTW, I'm using mac.
