Nosferatu is a teambased multiplayer first person shooter. It involves roundbased (each player has 1 life round just like in the famous game counterstrike) only this game pits vampires vs slayers.

First the infamous Stakejacker inspired by the one used in the hit movie "From Dusk Till Dawn". It took us 3 modellers (well 2 and me hehe) to get this model done. Pallokallo started on it, I enhanced it visually and azelito finally rebuild it cause the resulting model was one big mess :P

Next two mapmodels, the pumpkin (can you say Halloween ?) and skull, the skull is also used on our full skeleton model, which we will release later.

And guess what, as always heres a new track from the soundtrack:

Btw, the news update got further delayed because I messed up the board a couple of hours ago. Luckily I was able to recover most of it so everyone who got problems with logging in -> mail me.

I love the look of the Stakejacker.

The song is very distorted sounded and that has put me off it, not sure if it is the recording quality or what. But the actual tune of the song I like. Anyway, good job :).

This is looking to be a VERY entertaining game.. Have you thought at all of signing with a publisher? I'm sure that many would be interested.

Eh, I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

But I was a huge fan of Vampire-Slayer, and seeing as this is "inspired" by it, the whole Stakejacker weapon? Stupid.

I just find it way overdone and doesn't fit in a Vampire-Slayer mod.

Thanks for the comments.

Curman:
Thats why it is only inspired by Vampire Slayer (and inspired means that I like vampires and some basic elements from the "Vampire Slayers" mod, but wanted to create my own Vampire themed game). The Stakejacker wouldnt fit in Vampire Slayers and this is not Vampire Slayers so everything is fine. It got some similarities but we dont want to create a clone but rather something different, so if you dont like it play Vampire Slayers its a fine mod. You have to remember that there are different gamemods and the gameplay is different as well, so while it might not fit in a mod like Vampire Slayers it will fit in our game, since it was build with weapons like this in mind.

Eh, I don't really want to argue about Vampire-Slayer.

That mod will always be the original and the best.

But, the point was the Stakejacker seemed a little overpowered, it's as if you add a rocket launcher into a tactical mod, it's obviously going to be overpowered and overused.

Well when you look at that thing, it's clearly a single-shot weapon, much like an RPG. Loading it would take at least a second or two (that is, if they're going to be realistic with the weapons), so I don't think it'd be exactly cheap.

Singleshot?

To me it looked like a jackhammer but with a stake, and just run around like a moron waving it around hoping to fend off vampires..

Well where would the other stakes fit? There is no clip large enough to hold even one more stake on that thing..

Ok some quick words about the Stakejacker:

Its a Jackhammer with a stake and you are slower with it than with a regular weapon thus you cant run around with it like a moron. Its mostly used for the barricade gamemode where you have to survive a certain time inside a building or something similiar (for example you can fend of massive amounts of vampires trying to break through a door etc.), however you can use the Stakejacker in different situations as well. For example when you are in a small group of 3-4 slayers, one can take the Stakejacker to quickly kill vampires once they are shot down (benefits over a regular stake are that the Stakejacker has a longer range plus a faster hitspeed (thus increasing your chance of hitting the vampire in the heart). So a couple of slayers try to "kill" the vampires, and the Stakejacker guy runs around and kills the vamps once somebody is down. You can also try to keep the vampires at a longer distance if you are good at aiming with the Stakejacker.

sorry for the doublepost but I cant edit the comments.

You should confuse the gameplay aspect of the Stakejacker with the Chainsaw in Doom3, its not like this..

So original = best?

By that logic, perhaps Wolfenstein 3d is the best and all other first persoon shooters are inferior. And I'm sure you've never bothered buying Doom 2 or 3 since the original is the best. Ditto Half-life.

Or maybe you're prepared to admit that since you haven't played Nosferatu that you have no basis for comparison and that Nosferatu is likely to be far better than Vampire Slayer.
