The reviewers say: "I would entirely recommend this game, it’s hours of fun and will not wear out quick. Each twist and turn, every near-miss, you’ll be clinging onto your mouse for dear life!" -Bytten "MMEOR dispenses away with any backstory and just lays on the action – the kind that is fast and furious." -GamesWarp Monster Minis Extreme Off-Road lays on the nitrous in a big way and gets some serious air off with retro racing that takes off-road in new directions. A retro look and a surreal style are only the beginning of the ways that this single-player title takes you back to when racing was a personal experience for as long as you could handle it. With a whopping 90 tracks over 18 themes, you'll be racing for hours and hours before you finish this game on the first run.

This game is primarily meant to be played with a mouse. Wheel and pedals work well too. Feel free to remap any functions at your desire to alternate keys/buttons.

Other input methods suck in my opinion, such as gamepads and keyboard steering, but I'll let you decide. Maybe it's me who sucks with a joypad thumbstick. Let us know what input methods you used and how you liked them.

I have only played the demo, but i found mouse steering very difficult. I bet it would be better if I spent more time getting used to it. I swapped to keyboard controls so I could stop crashing and spinning out so much and enjoy the game.
I think the steering is too sensitive, but that just adds to the challenge of the game, and gives me reason to play the game more and practice.

Hi,

Glad to hear you are excited about our game! You can adjust the mouse sensitivity on the Controls page (accessed from the main menu) or in-game by pressing F2. If you have a USB gamepad/joystick/wheel, plug it in before you start the game, and go into the Controls page and select it from the drop-down list of controllers - then set up the steering and buttons to control the various functions as you like.

Enjoy!

A couple of general tips beyond adjusting the mouse (posted above). Be calm if you can and you'll get used to it. Play it in easy mode first - it's a little slower and it doesn't matter if you come in last place.

So few racing games use the mouse (I don't know why since it's a superior input device over a joypad) so we expect some amount of getting used to it. In the full game we start you off a lot easier in the first series, but in the demo we didn't have a lot of room for all that so we skipped the series 1 primer.

We also highly recommend a Thrustmaster Ferrari GT 3-in-1 racing wheel (works on your PS3 too) for this game as it's very inexpensive and works really well. Just remember to map it first in our whizzy-cool wheel mapping wizard. I like to use the roof cam with it - it's most like being behind the wheel.

BTW - you must have mad keyboard driving skills.
