Happy Halloween, everybody! Or, almost Halloween. The outside sure doesn't look like September anymore, so what better way to start getting ready for the official Spooky Season than by getting ready for one of our annual Art Hallow's Eve contests in Mondrian - Plastic Reality?
First, let me back up and explain the in-game event. During Art Hallow's Eve, Mondrian gets an autumnal makeover. Leaves fall on the main menu, a special Razer Chroma RGB color set is activated, and Gem Hunt mode is replaced with "Spooky Gem Hunt." In this mod on the second-oldest Quick Play game mode, players are presented with a Trick or a Treat in every level. Treats include bonuses like longer bonus banners and extra big Gems! Treats on the other hand will mess with your mind for the entire level. It's up to you to survive while going Double or Nothing on your Gems in between each round.
This year, we will be hosting four - count them one, Two, tHrEe, FOUR - contests for Art Hallow's Eve, to cater to those with and without the game! Furthermore, thanks to relaunching our mod.io page, only one contest will require the premium Lifetime Pass version. The contests will include our annual Mondrian Maker pumpkin carving contest, a haunted house design contest, a costume contest, and a "startled video clip" contest. Each of these contests will have itch.io and Steam keys on offer for games and DLC. They will be detailed in a separate blog post on Sunday, aka tomorrow. But you can get a head start on things by downloading the pumpkin template off mod.io or off Steam Workshop.
We will also be releasing loads of new Museum cosmetics, with a brand new Art Hallow's Eve spotlight artwork pack featuring twelve new works for your pedestals, and a Strand Board Wall and Ceiling. Make sure you download the latest update, especially for access to more spooky cosmetics for the haunted house contest.
