Nice! lol I saw this update in 17 seconds flat from when it was posted.
Aside from weapon modeling, hows developing this game going?
Many special effects have been coded in. A fully functional weapon system has been coded in. Framework for a vehicle system is in place. A player system is in the works. Features such as crouching, prone, aiming down sights have been implemented. We also have a class based system for multi-player planned.
The only areas we are currently lacking on are maps and textures.
Hey, I know these models are for the pc version, but even today most weapon models are not 3000+tris INCLUDING hands. Except maybe those high graphical games like crysis and such. Most games have special engine features to make low poly models look amazing
Half life 2 had only around 2000 tris weapon models including hands.
Pumping polies into a model doesn't make it good. Not to say you aren't doing a great job, just that maybe you should cut down on you poly.
Unreal Tournament 3 has weapon view models that have up to 12,000 tris.
We may possibly trim down the tris on the pickup model if necessary but view models will stay the same.
That was UT3, and this is a darkplaces engine
If you're going to ignore the poly counts from UT3 then I'm going to ignore the poly counts from Half life 2.
As far as I'm concerned Urban Wars runs just fine on my crappy computer.
Im just saying you are wasting a large amount of polies for no reason.
Even if can run it, guns don't look that round in real life anyways
Too round. Pfft.
