Long ago, many evil spirits known as Tengu posed a grave threat to mankind. These spirits demanded human sacrifice in order to keep them from wiping mankind out. Seeing their plight, the heavens bestowed the gift of ninpo upon the humans who had suffered the hardest. Using this newfound power, the humans mastered the art of the ninja and defeated all of the evil tengu - or so they thought. Flash forward a few hundred years.
