Urban Terror is a free multiplayer first person shooter developed by FrozenSand, that (thanks to the ioquake3-code) does not require Quake III Arena anymore. It is available for Windows, Linux and Macintosh. Urban Terror can be described as a Hollywood tactical shooter; somewhat realism based, but the motto is "fun over realism". This results in a very unique, enjoyable and addictive game. Please post all support issues in the forums for the game.

Just found a fix and thought I'd share it for someone else. There's another thread about this, but it didn't fully address the problem and I didn't want to bump it after 3 months. This fix worked for me as of 28th September 2012.

Anyone having problems with these:
- Weird menu / menu buttons not responding
- French flag for crosshair/menu buttons
- No sound
- Can't start a game/server
Should try and download these two patches:
Patch 1
Patch 2
How to install:

  1. Download the files
  2. Open Desura and select the tab 'Play'
  3. Right click on 'Urban Terror', and choose properties. The properties dialog will appear.
  4. Use this to find the place where the UT executable is installed (e.g. home/|usrname|/Documents/Desura/desura/common/iourbanterror/ioUrbanTerror.i386)
  5. Navigate to the folder iourbanterror
  6. Copy the two patches you downloaded in the folder, replacing the files already there

Hopefully it should work now.
