Grimoire is a PC multiplayer shooter where wizards battle in a dark medieval fantasy world for prestige and power using unique and powerful spells. Though inspired by many popular FPS games, Grimoire also features MOBA style spells including everything from devastating “ultimate” attacks to specialized class-based passive skills to customizable classes. We aim to combine the best of FPS with the unique classes and abilities found in MOBA games into fun and engaging wizard combat that rewards precise aim as well as strategic skills and teamwork. Although Grimoire has a total of seven planned game modes we have decided to focus primarily on our three favorites for the games initial release: Conquest, Co-Op Survival, and Arena.

It's been a busy month! From golems to skeletons, come see what we've been working on.

It's been an exciting month for us at Omniconnection. The size of our team is growing and Grimoire is evolving at a pace we're extremely happy with. Our consistently updated patch notes for the current build of Grimoire can be found at: Grimoire 0.6 Patch Notes

On the top of our priority list right now is getting first person mode to a functioning state. The ideal goal for Grimoire has always been towards first person perspective rather than third. With that being said however, we are giving server hosts the power to allow/disallow third and first person toggling.

First Person Arms Created by Hugues Giboire (rigging now in process):

A major focus for us is to ensure that each class has it's own unique level of depth. Since patch 0.5 we've reworked abilities from nearly every class as per our alpha testers feedback. Here's a short preview of some changes we've made:

New Earth Ultimate( Summons a massive earth golem to fight by your side and attack enemies )

New Lightning Ability( Lightning bolt that deals splash damage at point of impact, slowing enemies hit )

Prototyping for our cooperative survival mode has begun. Although Grimoire has a major emphasis on the pvp element of mage combat, we see a world of potential with the cooperative survival mode and will continue to update it regularly.

More information on cooperative survival coming soon!

You are sticking with UDK? It would probably be annoying to migrate to Unreal 4?

Looking nice, I like the look of those skeletons.

We spent a fair amount of time weighing out our options for porting to UE4. The timing was rather unfortunate in the sense that we had Grimoire in playable state within UDK when UE4 launched. Although UE4 would definitely have some added bonuses, we believe we can achieve what we are trying to within UDK for this title.
