ev0lv3 is a 3D strategy game, situated in a futuristic environment with intelligent enemies that evolve using genetic algorithms. Because the enemies use genetic algortihms for their AIs, they are always changing and improving, leading to interesting gameplay against complex enemies. The game will be singleplayer in early builds, but will eventually have multiplayer support added. There are also plans so that once a large anough amount of servers exist, a decentralized discovery system will allow enemy strategies to be shared over servers, so that they can test different strategies in different styles of servers and against different players.

By the way, although the propellers are still in the picture, in the program the propellers spin rapidly. Also, it appears that there was a graphical defect in the propeller, don't worry about that. If I enable vsync, a graphics feature, that will be fixed, although the propeller is spinning too fast for you to see that in the game anyways.

Description

Today I made huge progress on the modeling system, moving objects, and now mounting vehicles! This is a temporary vehicle that will be much improved before the game is released. The vehicle is a gigantic quadcopter that you can mount by pressing 'm' and fly around in. I've worked to make the controls pretty smooth, for example the quadcopter steers smoothly and rolls to the side in the same way airplanes do in real life. By the way, I'm pretty sure that quadcopters do not steer like airplanes, or behave at all like the one I've coded, but for now it's a neat tool for fast travel, which will be important one I make larger worlds.
