Find yourself once again in Rivellon, a timeless world full of awe and magic, shattered and frightened by the apocalyptic wars of the past. No one knows why so many people had to give their lives. Everything seems to be over, but the peace was deceptive, for the demon has returned and the horror once again runs its course.
Really enjoyable game, but it has it's flaws. The experience/battle system could be improved. I often ran into the problem that I couldn't continue to a certain area, because the enemies were too strong and I had to do a few sidequests to earn XP. The sidequests make you choose what you want and if you don't take the XP that could lead to your character being weak in the end. So what I would suggest is instead of enemies that don't return, make the enemies respawn so you can earn XP and fix your XP-problem. The mindreading ability is introduced at the beginning of the game and that got me all excited. But then they tell me that I lose XP when I do so and that contributes to the XP-problem and leading players into saving the game, mindreading and checking if it was worth it, if it wasn't reload the game. And if you did that and they told you oh this key is in that box there and you go back to your save and check the box, it isn't there and you have to mindread to make it appear, which is also kind of akward. So instead of paying with XP or money I would either make it free or pay with something that can be regenerated in some way. The battle system is sometimes unbalanced. I had some perks and in the end of the game, those perks made me untouchable (I got 0 damage all the time), while at other stages it was very hard (got a lot of damage). Needs to be balanced. The armor sets in the game are looking really nice. I wished there was a trade system going on in the towns and a "level-up armor" experience. So you earn your next armor set. Loved the customizable characters, esp the curly hair of the women is my fav.
Could have put more dragon-time in the game (esp in the sequel). Same thing goes for the dragon-armor and more dragonarmor would have been nice too. Air combat vs ground combat should have been there and not removing the ground targets. I would like 2 have added: Flying up while staying on the same spot, so you dont have to look up with your camera to fly up.
Great game, with much rpg elements but the dragon part was too short and too simple the game should have been more open world. The character and dragon looks awesome i hope they implement a dragon customization that isn't simple.
I hope the next divinity where you can play a dragon is more open world.
