Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War delivers a level of visual detail never before seen in an RTS. Hundreds of units clash on the battlefields of the dark future, unleashing massive destruction through a stunning battery of long-range weaponry before closing in for the finish. Incredible kill animations bring science fiction combat to life like never before, and the gritty future-gothic Warhammer 40,000 setting provides a striking tableau for the chaos and carnage of this grim, dark future, where there is only war!
Real time shadows for all Dark Crusade units. Does NOT contain any other mods units.
Soulstorm version, please?
I don't have SS.
does this work for the original "DOW:GOTY?"
I think it should work, try.
How do i install this?
Is this mod intended to work in the campaign? When I activate it in-game I can see those sweet shadows in the screenshot above in skirmish but in the campaign models have no shadows. Not even the standard blob shadows they usually have.
This is something I see in my game as well. Beautiful shadows in the skirmish mode, but none with the campaign. Makes me wonder if there are some files that need to be changed that were missed with this mod. I've taken a look, but so far, not sure. If I find something, I'll post here.
Good news. Found out what the problem was. Some of the SP maps have their shadow opacity set to zero.
So to fix it. Two options. Go through it yourself and change them. I'm not 100% sure on doing this. I would have to dig around in the mod tools more and read up on how to do the maps.
OR
Option 2 is go here Moddb.com
Download IFDSR for DC and it fixes it for you. Also increases maximum fog distance and sky radius for single-player campaign maps
But there you go MachoSuave.. Enjoy! ;)
Nice detective work dude, but IFDSR mod appears to only work on campaign map shadows and not skirmish maps :(
is there anyway to increase the quality on the shadows bechause they look pretty pixelated when i use it
I've tried doing building quality once, but it didn't work out.
How to install this?
Like every other DoW mod?
Could you give me a real answer buddy?
Sure, just place .module and mod folder in the game folder and run it from game/mod manager in main menu, simple as that :).
