Qbots is a procedurally generated sandbox game with an emphasis on combat and exploration. The world is randomly created as players move through it, which means the environment is essentially infinite. What we've developed so far in the past nine months is a "proof of concept" of the game — basically a developer prototype that includes basic functions like digging, building, combat, the menu system, multi-player mode, and a few very simple quests. Right now in the prototype there's a day/night cycle, rudimentary towns scattered throughout the landscape, a desert and forest environment, a map, and lots of attacking enemy robots (called Malbots). T he environments in Qbots are hexagonal based, so when you dig dirt out of the ground or steel from the side of a town, you will add hex-shaped building blocks to your Tool Bin.
