Contagion isn't your average Zombie Shooter but instead takes a more realistic and different approach to the popular genre with unique characters, environments, weapons, items, and a built in system that makes every round completely unpredictable with resources, objectives, and paths ever changing. From the creator of Zombie Panic: Source Brian "Tatsur0" Comer we introduce it's spiritual successor.

There's no good relation besides that they both have a zombie infection. And this is a GAME, NMRiH was just a mod which I just can't play for some weird reason.(Game maps are broken)

Wow, this is starting to seem like what I wish Left 4 Dead could have been. Are the zombies going to be able to jump, and climb things like ladders and small ledges?

This is nice, very moody and atmospheric. I appreciate that any lack of polish is of course due to its early stage of development, but two things I would definitely say are that the HUD is far too overbearing (covering 25% of the screen at all times is way too much), and the ragdolls of dead zombies are far too stiff (typical of Source games, but they just flop over when dead, and it's almost comical looking).

Apart from that this looks great. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys. :)

We agree and the hud can be adjusted in options and the new rigging resolves numerous issues. Appreciate the alpha acknowledgement :)

Agreed on the subject of ragdolls. It would be really cool if you could include death animations blended with ragdolls, L4D style.

It looks very good, but you can buy L4D1-2 for some dollar, play NMRiH for free and find another zombie mods on the net. I'm a bit sad you're using your cool talents to make an average zombie mod. It would be awesome with mutants or other cool creatures, maybe something like in "the thing" someone is always infected in the party or dunno. I hope you can make some special feature into the game what make it unique.

The game is already something completely different in more ways than one than anything currently on the market. We're not asking anyone to buy the game right now and are keeping quite a bit to ourselves for the time being. I can understand you mistaking it for an average zombie game/mod but we hope you'll stick around and be pleasantly surprised.

meh imo special zombies is too l4d they are trying something new and no even the alpha video is better than an average zombie mod the quality of models and usage of minor animations is pretty much assured that

I agree, it looks freaking amazing. But one of the questions I have is will there be some element of progression (Levels for each class/style of play that scale with the difficulty like if im a level one shotgunner, I would play easy difficulty but harder difficulties would be far too difficult) as well as weapons that can be upgraded and customized with attachments and so on? I love that stuff and its one of the reasons I play games like killing floor so much. LET THIS BE MY NEW KILLING FLOOR <333333

Very reminiscent of the biotech labs in ZPS will we be seeing that company again it would be great if little easter eggs like that can be found. I love the fact you have produced an animation for the minor parts of gameplay like pushing a button and unlocking doors. Also will the neck bite infect i feel gameplay wise if the neck bite could instant kill the human as it evens up gameplay as the main problem of ZPS was the fact even if u sneak up behind a survivor and attack they can still not die

It looks pretty cool for an alpha but... Dont you plan to enhance the animations/animation system? I mean when players lookin around they're just rotating in a position, and it would nice to see ladder, stair-climbing animations(I mean in half life you just run up on a stair as on a ramp). I dont say that I want you to make euphoria-like animations, but after games like gta(and etc...) source animations looks a bit dumb... :/ Anything else gonna be cool, as I see you got cool objectives there, not just run through the level and stay alive... :D

edit: I liked when the zombie player grabbed another player, this should be the way it got to look when zombies attacking the players, cuz in other scenes its a bit odd when a lot of zombies just waiting in vain around the player... :D

We believe animations are a very important part of immersing yourself in the game and one of the reasons we pointed out that you're not seeing the new rigging and animations in this video as they were not yet implemented. Everyone is working hard and later after the polish phase expect to show off more.

love the video... GREAT progress since the last gameplay video you guys uploaded! great script for the clip btw.: the flightthroughs, screen in screen.. nice! :) what i do love most about the hud/pov-features is that you actually do what you do with your hands - saw and loved that recently in dead island.. i think duke nukem got it also a bit like that - anyway, awesome ;) (crushing locks, using keys etc.)

can't wait to see more in the future :)

Quick Question, Will there be an option for bots?, or are they two different game modes( only co-op has bots, Regular zpo/zps are just Player controlled?)

The only thing that looks bad is the Font you choosed for the GUI. I would really take something else. Maybe even sans serif or something more decent atleast

Else, wow, nice

This all looks excellent. The gameplay seems very immersive and fun. However, with me being the shadow-***** that I am, I have to ask: Numerous Source Mods and games are making huge improvements in the field of Dynamic Shadowing and Shadowmapping. I was curious if you guys have considered rigging up something to produce shadows that were somewhat decent compared to the stock Source shadows.

needs more recoil, like in zombie panic. like actual screen moving recoil not animation recoil. plz, it becomes to easy without it. very good work on everything though.
