Children of Liberty Alpha 0.1.2 is now online and features new updates including animation fixes and some new mechanics.
The biggest new mechanic added this week is the Brickball. The Brickball was a projectile weapon pickup in our old prototype, and it's back, albeit with some changes. The Brickball is now an item you carry around permanently, and there is no limit to the number you can throw. However, they will no longer knock out Redcoats instantly. Instead they stun them for 1-2 seconds and cause negligible damage. The Brickball is not used for winning fights, merely gaining an edge, and sometimes even for solving puzzles. Brickballs currently do not interact with enemies, but they do interact with the environment. We are still in the process of rebuilding the AI and Brickball hits will be included in their restructuring.
New UI icons have been added which show when you can take cover or turn.
A few animation fixes, including a proper separation of Joseph's falling and landing, and Joseph's Shadow Shuffle for movement in shadow.
