We failed to get hold of a mic, so there was no voiceover. We'll try to get a voiceover to the next video.
For now, we just wanted to show about where we are in the development and how the world feels.

The world is absolutely gorgeous! However, I think a more intuitive and smoother system than typing commands is a must.

I have simple suggestion that many indie games seem to forget about entirely. You should give your player a weighted feel, if your character feels like he/she is floating or gliding when you control him/her, it makes for an unimmersive experience.

Thanks for the feedback, we definately want to include a headbob-effect for the sake of realism. However, the code to implement headbob is quite complex, so right now we've prioritized other things.

It looks absolutely gorgeous! But I must say a text based interaction would ruin the immersion in the world, and I beleieve that must be the strongest point of this game. I would go for a no-HUD direct interactivity with world objects thing. Then again, i'm no game developer... Keep up the good work :)

Looks amazing, same thing as what others have said basically. Needs some sort of camera movement when walking (don't over do it though)and text based controlls would get rather tedious if it was used for everything. Possibly a list when you you select the item.

We considered a list before as well, but we think it's too overpowered to let players know exactly what they can do with an item. We're trying out the command-based system since it frees us of any GUI, but also lets you completely use your imagination when it comes to interacting with items.

Cool. Will you be able to set the key bindings?

A very unique look, considering that many games using the U3-Engine really look the same.
However I'm really interested what System this was run on. With all these strange looking plants (especially the grass-thingy everywhere) I assume it takes a lot of power to display.

Right now, Boundless can run smoothly on quite old computers, since the world consists mostly of static meshes with simple collision. I expect creatures and AI to take more computer power, but naturally we'll do everything we can to keep the specs down so that as many people as possible can enjoy our game :)

Spectacular. The particles in the air are great, the graphics are great, it's ALL great. Boundless has met every single on of my expectations so far. There is one thing though, now that you have released this video, I WILL SIT AND STARE AT MY COMPUTER SCREEN SPAMMING THE REFRESH BUTTON UNTIL THE NEXT UPDATE!!!

Sweet, looks amazing. I think it would be nice to have a hud that only show like your hunger, thirst, and energy. Also I am assuming the inventory textures are still being worked on? Also with this update can you try to caculate how long it will take before a alpha playable game will be ready?

We will try to have a minimalistic HUD, so if we can manage it, we don't want any kind of bars or similar things that is covering the beautiful world. We want to try to make you realize what's happening without any HUD if we can (instead use sounds, post process effects, camera shakes a.s.o). We'll see how we manage.

Inventory icons is me just tossing something in to not have solid colors. Our artist will exchange them whenever he have time, and we have decided more on how inventory should work. It will probably be quite a bit smaller.

Regarding alpha, I don't know. We'll see when we are ready. We don't work with deadlines right now, as we are very busy with our daytime work too.

It is looking very good, and you guys seem to be making amazing progress even as you just do this on your free time. I really liked the meshes and small details like grass movement. I would like to see the environment be more interactable, though I know this being the first video, it is still early in progress and you just showed the beginnings.

Maybe instead of commands you could just have some sort of hotkey (like "E" for eat) or some sort of combination so that the actions that you would want to be of a quicker reaction (like punch, pick up, or some sort of sneak toggle).

Keep up the good work

We plan to get the environment more intractable when we have the meshes for it =) So don't worry.

We have the command system fully hot-keyable atm, and the most common keys are already bound. But sadly, all commands we plan for will make the keyboard layout quite messy. When we iterate over it, we'll see if we can come up with some better ideas, if you have some, don't hesitate posting them in the forums =)

After a lot of tweaking, we finally finished our first gameplay video! This shows our inventory system and the way players interact with objects. Right now, all actions players take (like eating stuff) are through typing the actual commands (such as eat, or consume) in the chat. Please let us know what you think of this system!
