BOBA TEA TIME ART INTRODUCTION

In this article we are going to introduce you guys to our Art choices!
MAIN ART STYLE
Our game has the objective of being cozy and relaxing
The art style is one of, if not, the most important thing to achieve that goal with its visuals.
The art style we chose for the game was "cartoony" and mainly "cute"
(with a watercolor effect for that extra cozy and traditional feeling)
COLOR PALLET
We choose a color pallet that is "warm" and "pastel"
Warm colors because they make you feel welcome, comfortable, and happy, these colors are also stimulating
Pastel tones because we associate pastel colors with innocence, softness and cuteness, but they're still fun colors
AESTHETIC
The aesthetic we are going to focus our work on is called "cottagecore"
That aesthetic takes inspiration from nature and farm living.
It’s like countryside nostalgia, where people from the big city want to take holidays in a non stressful rural place
It is the romanticization of living in the countryside peacefully.
CHARACTER ART STYLE
We made contact with people from our target audience to understand what art style fits better their likes
We made 4 different art styles for the same sketch character to see which would they pick
The target audience choose the "B", Because it fits with the "cute" team making it simple
Some even stated “There’s not a single thought running inside that mind”
MAIN CHARACTER DESIGN
The original idea was just like the Animal Crossing, like a human in the middle of a town full of animal people
But since this is a fantasy setting, the idea of the main character being an anthropomorphic animal came to mind
So we did another survey with the target audience to see if they liked the ideia
In this one they choose the "B" option, so we are going to work towards an anthropomorphic character
CONCLUSION
And that is everything for the introduction of our Game Art
