The Game Builder tabThis is it, the Bluish-Green Productions Game Maker 8.1 Standard tutorials series starts off with the first of its weekly releases.
This week, you can look forward to starting on your very first game: Cave Explorer. With the addition of the Game Builder Extension, programming is easy.
You only need a single Action to manage all the movement!
This includes changing the Sprite for each direction, the speed and even the speed the image should play at as you move.
Could game making get any easier?
Yes. And it will. But for now, please be content with this incredible time-saver. I timed it, this should save you at least 30 minutes of work (based on a new user to Game Maker creating the equivalent of this Action's programming).
In this lesson you will create the Explorer, both normal and cracked walls, and the projectile that you need to break those cracked walls.

Don't forget, it is strongly recommended that you read the Introduction before starting this tutorial.
And don't forget to have the BGP Game Builder tab installed.
Check back next week for the second lesson in this tutorial series.

Good luck Game Making!
