I didn't want to post a new thread until I tried everything I could think of, but my game keeps crashing at the start. The farthest I've been able to get is the screen where you type in a username and then the game crashes, everytime. I've tried everything in the troubleshooting thread and searched for various other possible problems but nothing I tried worked. I've uninstalled and redownloaded the game numerous times, redownloaded and repaired both the XNA and .NET programs numerous times, and checked to see if my save file was corrupt, but the game keeps crashing. I'd really like to play it soon. Currently, I have the standalone download installed on Windows XP. I'm hoping you may be able to diagnose the problem, as nothing I can come up with or try has worked. Here's the error log from my most recent crash:

Hey
I can't say for sure what is going on here, but it sounds like some kind of memory problem.
What computer specs do you have?

Also, are you running the game as an administrator?
goto you install folder, rightclick "Bloody Trapland.exe" and choose "Run as administrator"

I don't have the option for "Run as administrator" when I right click my Bloody Trapland.exe but I have "Run as..." which I clicked and brought to a pop up window that allows you to select what user account should run the program. I have my account checked, which is an administrator so I figure its the same thing as the program running as an administrator.

As for my computer specs, I don't know how much info you need but I'll just list as much as I think is relevant. My computer is extremely old by today's standards, it's a Compaq model from 2003, but it's been upgraded twice for more RAM and an added graphics card (which was old at the time it was purchased around 2008):

System Info:

Manufacturer: Compaq Presario 061
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz
Memory: 1528MB RAM
Page File: 615MB used, 2811MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Device:

Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC
Approx. Total Memory: 256.0 MB
Current Display Mode: 1024 x 768 (32bit) (60Hz)

Hard Drive:

Used Space: 63.2 GB
Free Space: 5.28 GB

Is that sufficient for specs?

Oh, sorry... On windows xp, do the following:
goto your install folder, rightclick "Bloody Trapland.exe" and choose "Properties", a new window pops up.
Select "Compabilty" in the tabbar, then check "Run this program as an administrator", and hit "apply"

It might be that your graphics card is to old. But you could try this.
Locate your "C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Bloody Trapland", and open "Options.ini" with notepad.
Then set the following:
Effects=Off
Gore=False

then save the file and try starting the game.

In the compatibility tab bar I have "Run this program in compatibility mode for..." and then a box which opens up to a list of past Windows operating systems such as 98 and 2000. I haven't seen any option directly called "Run as an administrator" on my computer.

I set Effects=Off and Gore=False in the "Options.ini" file but it's still crashing. Is there anything else left to try?

Ah, I just noticed a pop up from the last crash. It says "No suitable graphics card found". I guess I have my answer now...

Thank you for the help though. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get a new computer to play :/
